theatrical design

The breadth of Harper Lee’s story proved a challenge in such a small performing space, and judicious lighting choices were crucial in delineating both time and space on August Viverito’s somewhat abstracted small-town South setting. The design employed a largely naturalistic color palette, with harsher white light used in the courtroom to create a more alienating atmosphere.
